Herman’s Head star and podcaster visits Springfield

The Simpsons latest celebrity guest star is Yeardley Smith. Playing herself, the podcast host will venture to Springfield after Grandpa Simpson is accused of committing a scandalous crime.

Smith is also already the voice of Lisa Simpson, which asks the question about whether Smith will be pocketing an additional talent fee for the episode. This is not the first time a Simpsons voice actor has brought their real life ventures into the world of The Simpsons with Harry Shearer’s Spinal Tap rocking out at a concert in an early-years episode of the show. But it is the first time a Simpsons actor is portraying themselves on screen.

The episode also marks the writing return of David X Cohen to the series.

Compromises made to get more boots on the moon

Space Force was a show that inspired a really tasty Ben & Jerry ice-cream variety (Boots on The Moon - it’s delicious), but the show itself failed to impress almost everyone.

But the show will be back… with some changes made to the production.

Filming is being moved from LA to Vancouver to save some costs. Series creator Greg Daniels will be joined by a new co-showrunner, his longtime collaborator Norm Hiscock.

Netflix are hoping the show may follow a similar trajectory as the US The Office which had a rough first season before becoming universally beloved.

Horrible

King Features strip Hagar The Horrible is being adapted into an animated series by The Jim Henson Company. And by animated series… I mean, kinda…

The series will be made using Henson Digital Puppetry Studio, a proprietary animation technology that allows Henson’s puppeteers to manipulate animated characters in real time, allowing for an organic, spontaneous performance.

The series is from Eric Ziobrowski, a writer on Fresh Off The Boat and Don’t Trust The B in Apartment 23.
