What you'll be watching this weekend: 30 Aug - 1 Sept 2019
Always Be Watching is written by Dan Barrett
As I type this at the Always Be Watching HQ in Sydney, Australia, it is currently bucketing with rain outside. Perfect weather to hit the couch and thankfully the TV gods have rained a bunch of interesting shows.
The Dark Crystal prequel series is the absolute pick of the weekend. You don’t need to have seen the film to understand this (I recall trying to watch the film as a kid and I was possibly just too young for it at the time). The critics have raved about it.
Amazon have its own genre show for the weekend with Carnival Row. It’s a sexy steam-punky kind of show that critics have been a bit middling on.
I’m also still re-working my way through Mindhunter season 1. I tried to get started on the 2nd season after a 2+ year gap and was just a bit too confused, so I’m currently rewatching an episode every night before bed. I should be onto season 2 tomorrow.
As always, thank you for reading Always Be Watching every day/week. I appreciate your support. If you have friends who might value it, please forward this email to them and suggest that they sign-up.
