New Netflix teen drama shoots in QLD

Dive Club is an Australian teen series about to head into production for Netflix and an unnamed local commercial broadcaster (Only Nine has so far held its 2021 upfronts). The show will film in Queensland. Expect a lot more international productions shooting in Australia thanks to success in limiting COVID infection rates.

“Dive Club” follows a group of skilled teenage divers as they strive to uncover a mysterious disappearance that will change their small town and each other, forever. Northern Queensland seaside town Port Douglas will stand in for the fictional Cape Mercy.

New Borat movie has a title

A new sequel to Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan has been filmed in secret. The sequel has a title (not still no official confirmation that it exists, as far as I’m aware). It’ll be: Borat: Gift of Pornographic Monkey to Vice Premiere Mikhael Pence to Make Benefit Recently Diminished Nation of Kazakhstan.

South Park community shows support for the Denver Broncos

I love this stunt. In the US to compensate for an absence of crowds at sporting events, the stands have been filled with digital crowds or cardboard standees in an effort to make it all seem less weird.

During Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Bucaneers, a limited crowd of 5700 fans were permitted in to see the Denver Broncos play at Empower Field at Mile High Stadium. But also in attendance in one of the end zones were 1800 character cutouts from South Park.

The standees were also sold to help raise money for charity. South Park returns to TV this week with a special titled The Pandemic Special.
