Own the Schitt’s Creek Motel
The Hockley Motel in Ontario is better known to fans of Schitt’s Creek as The Rosebud Hotel. It’s up for sale and can be yours for US$1.6 million.
The motel has six units, each with a bedroom and bathroom on 4,300-square-feet. It also has a two-story manager’s suite that has three bedrooms and one bath. There is also a a 700-square-foot detached guest cottage and barn with space for three horses.
Current owner Jesse Tipping bought the place in 2012 for $820,000. He said he would welcome the next owner making the place into a Schitt’s Creek-themed motel.

Obi-Wan announces cast
The Deborah Chow-directed Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi will start filming next month with the cast officially announced today. Some interesting names here. In addition to McGregor and Christensen reprising their roles as the titular Kenobi and Darth Vader, there’s the unexpected casting of Uncut Gems co-director Benny Safdie, X-files podcast host Kumail Nanjiani, former Australian game show host Simone Kessell, and Moses Ingram (last seen in The Queen’s Gambit). Also reprising their roles from the Star Wars prequels are Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse playing the pre-charred Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru.
I assume most scenes with Edgerton include him walking around telling people how much he enjoys BBQ and winking at the audience.

The big headline across a whole bunch of entertainment news websites today is that Russell Crowe is appearing in the new Thor movie for Marvel.
Sure, whatever. But what is frustrating is reading this blurb on the site deadline dot com:
Crowe’s role is being kept under wraps and the hope was to surprise fans with this fun cameo when the film was released, but following recent photos of Crowe hanging out with the cast all over Australia, Deadline has confirmed he is in the movie.
If it’s a cameo… and it’s there as a fun surprise in the movie… why report it? It’s not as though this is news in the public interest. Who benefits from knowing this? Is the point just to be a prick and ruin people’s fun?

The Aaron Sorkin movie (for Amazon) set during the production of an episode of I Love Lucy has added some more interesting names to an already interesting cast. Joining are four favourites of mine: Tony Hale, Alia Shawkat, Jake Lacy, and Clark Gregg.
Already in the cast are Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem as Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, JK Simmons, Nelson Franklin, John Rubinstein, Linda Lavin, Robert Pine, and Christopher Denham.
