For teens filming on an international production, Game of Thrones turned out to be a bonding experience for Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner.

“We’re kind of like loners on Game of Thrones, just because the past few seasons Maisie and I have sleepovers every night when we’re shooting. Or every night whenever both of us are in town. We just used to sit there and eat and watch stupid videos and smoke weed,” said Turner. “I don’t know if my publicist will kill me for saying this. We’d get high and then we’d sit in the bath together and we’d rub makeup brushes on our faces. It’s fun.”

Freaks & Geeks actress Busy Phillips has a new memoir coming out. In it she alleges that during the filming of F&G, co-star James Franco forcefully assaulted her.

“He grabbed both my arms and screamed in my face, ‘DON’T EVER TOUCH ME AGAIN!'” she writes in the book. “And he threw me to the ground. Flat on my back. Wind knocked out of me.”

The new South Park tackles the Kavanaugh hearings. It seems that Mr Hankey has been involved in some questionable activity in the past.

There’s an interesting new PBS doco called The Circus (not to be confused with the Showtime political series) which looks at the end of the circuses as a dominant American form of entertainment. The reason for its collapse? People started getting televisions and watching variety television like The Ed Sullivan Show.

The LA Times podcast Dirty John has been turned into a TV series starring Connie Britton and Eric Bana. The trailer has just been released.

Ridley Scott is directing a TV show after a career of directing movies and producing a whole bunch of shows/collecting cheques and taking a meeting or two (maybe).

Complex has put together a list of the 25 best crime shows since The Wire. The list is exclusively US-focused, ignoring the many much better crime series that have come from the UK and Europe over the past decade. But sure Complex, put Castle on your list.

That new Star Trek show about Captain Picard and starring Patrick Stewart? It’s not a limited series, but an ongoing, apparently.

And finally…
