Your weekly guide to all of the new and returning shows from US | UK | Australia

Welcome to an exceptionally weird moment in television.

Usually in this week I would write something like this: “It’s a patchy week with the dregs of the TV year as we wait for the onslaught of new shows debuting through September”.

Generally, in the first and second week of September is where all the US networks start debuting the large volume of new broadcast shows. Most of them will be terrible, but occasionally there’s a surprise.

But this year? It’s crickets. The production delays caused by the stupid virus means there’s only a handful of new shows debuting throughout the month.

This week… there’s still dregs.

I Am Woman looks to be a bit paint-by-numbers, but something that appears to be a bit of a quiet gem is UK comedy I Am Suzie. A 6-part series of half-hour episodes, the show stars Billie Piper as a celeb whose nude pics are released online. Lucy Mangan at The Guardian raves about it in a five-star review.
