What you'll watch this weekend! 14-16 June 2019

Always Be Watching is curated by Dan Barrett who thinks there may actually be too much good TV.

What a wild week of TV. Big Little Lies launched with a very loud whimper (huge buzz, very muted episode). But then there’s also the return of Jessica Jones for its final season and Younger fans will be happy to see that is back. Plus there’s a bunch of cult shows that will be highly anticipated.

But this week has two big questions. Actually the same question, but spread across two shows:

  1. How is there a new UK show starring Rob Lowe that I’ve not heard anyone mention until I just stumbled upon it today? It seems like something someone would be talking about/promoting. It’s called Wild Bill. Details below.

  2. We’re truly in an era of peak TV where a new show can launch on Amazon this weekend starring Miles Tellar and directed by Nicholas Winding Refn and nobody is talking about it either! Refn directs all ten episodes and is listed as a co-creator/co-writer alongside respected comic book writer Ed Brubaker. The show, Too Old To Die Young premiered at the Cannes Film Festival with episodes four and five screened.

Oh, and there’s also a new Adam Sandler/Jennifer Aniston film debuting on Netflix. Murder Mystery:
